Take advantage of the RénoVert credit.
Get up up to $10,000 in a refundable tax credit to carry out allowable eco-conscious home improvement projects. It corresponds to 20% of the portion of eligible expenses that exceeds $2,500 and that you paid after March 17, 2016 and before January 1, 2020.
Extension of the RénoVert tax credit until 2019
The eligibility period for the RénoVert tax credit is extended until March 31, 2019 for all eligible works*. The RénoVert refundable tax credit was set up temporarily to encourage individuals to carry out eco-conscious residential renovation works that are recognized and have a positive impact on the environment.
It is for you if you have eligible eco-conscious residential renovation work done for a home owned or co-owned by you and which is either your main place of residence or your year-round cottage you where you normally reside. This dwelling is one or the other of the following dwellings, and its construction was completed before January 1, 2016:
- a detached house;
- a a pre-engineered home or a mobile home permanently installed;
- an apartment in a divided condominium building (condominium);
- a dwelling in a multi-unit residential building;
- a year-round cottage that is normally occupied by the owner;
Eligible eco-conscious renovation works must be performed by a qualified contractor under an agreement entered into after March 17, 2016 and before April 1st, 2019.
The maximum amount of the tax credit you can claim for your qualifying home,for the years 2016 to 2019 is $ 10,000. It corresponds to 20% of the portion of eligible expenses that exceeds $ 2,500 and that you paid after March 17, 2016 and before January 1st, 2020.
